Meet Mary, Seattle Birth & Postpartum Doula | Owner of Rosula Doula

Supportive, straightforward, and good at swaddling babies and calming chaos (yes, yours too).

Rosula Doula Founded September 2021

I can look exhausted parents in the eye and say, “You’re not failing. You’re human. Let’s figure this out together.”

I want you to feel empowered in your capabilities - and also recognize that pregnancy and parenthood are new capacities you never knew you were capable of. With that said, give yourself grace as you figure it out. Every day is a new day, and we’re all living this life for the first time ourselves.

Whether you’re birthing your baby, knee-deep in parenting, or I’m your confidant in the middle of the night, I’m here to walk with you. You don’t have to have it all together. You just have to be here. I’ll meet you there.

I'm not here to give you a Pinterest-perfect version of support - I’m here for the real stuff. The “Why won’t the baby sleep?”, “Is this normal?”, and “I haven’t eaten anything but toast in two days,” kind of moments. I’ve worked with families from all walks of life, and no matter where you’re starting from, I meet you there - with zero judgment and a whole lot of heart.

Meet Mary - Family Care Techniques

Meet Mary

Birth Doula. Certified Postpartum Doula. Newborn Care Specialist. Sleep Consultant. Advocate. Dedicated birth worker.

Since 2016, I’ve supported families through pregnancy, postpartum, and the wild, beautiful mess of early parenthood. What started as nanny work quickly grew into a full-spectrum calling — combining compassionate care, evidence-based knowledge, and practical solutions to help families feel grounded and confident.

From birth to bottle refusals, and toddler meltdowns to safe sleep routines, I bring a steady presence, a well-trained eye, and a deep respect for every family’s unique story. Whether you’re navigating newborn life, recovering from birth, or just need someone to say "You’re doing enough," I’m here.

Cross-Training: Newborn Care Specialist vs. Postpartum Doula

Having training in both areas allows me to serve families more holistically. While some professionals specialize in only one, I’ve found that the overlap between the roles allows for seamless, tailored support.

Specialized Techniques & Philosophies

Bengkung Belly Binding

A traditional Malaysian method of wrapping the postpartum belly with a long, soft fabric to support healing. This technique offers physical support to the abdominal wall and organs while also providing a ritual of care and grounding after birth. Trained by Adilah Yelton of IBU Doula.

Integrative Care

Combining holistic and evidence-based practices—acknowledging the mind, body, and spirit. Whether that’s using a rebozo or supporting families through anxiety with grounding techniques, I tailor care to honor the whole person.

Mexican Rebozo

A traditional woven cloth used in pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Trained by Gena Kirby via her Online Rebozo Course.

Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs)

Informed by resources from Postpartum Support International, I support parents experiencing postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, and more by recognizing signs and offering referrals to trusted resources.

Responsive Care

  • Sleep Shaping: Gently supporting healthy sleep habits
  • Sleep Coaching: Respectful, developmentally aligned methods
  • Doula Work: Building secure attachment and honoring instinct

Spinning Babies®

A body-balancing approach to fetal positioning and comfort during pregnancy and labor. I trained with Emma Moreland, CPM. Learn more about the philosophy at Spinning Babies.

Trauma-Informed Support

I approach families with sensitivity and respect for past or present trauma. This includes offering choices, avoiding triggering language, and creating a safe emotional environment. I continue to grow in this area through trainings like those from Support After Abortion.
